JAKARTA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced Monday that the country's investment realization in the energy and mineral resources sector rose to 13.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of 2025, the highest in the last five years.
The number increased by 24.1 percent compared to the same period of last year, which was 11.2 billion dollars.
"The investments are mostly in the coal and gas sectors. The sub-sector with the highest investment realization was oil and natural gas, with an investment value of 8.1 billion dollars, followed by mineral and coal at 3.1 billion dollars," Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia told a press conference in Jakarta.
Previously, Indonesian Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani said that total investment realization in the second quarter of this year reached 477.7 trillion rupiahs (approximately 29.3 billion dollars), representing an 11.5 percent year-on-year increase. ■
